Size is just a number

Powerful read (copied and shared by proud mum)

Last night I received a message pointing me in the direction of a posted link to read I must admit I was half asleep at the time so I read the first paragraph and gave myself a reminder to read the rest tomorrow as I was intrigued and impressed by the article. This morning my daughter asked me if I had read the article and what did I think and I replied I had read some of it and was impressed by it and would read the rest later but was curious why she had sent it to me.To which she replied that she had written it. I personally think this is a very powerful piece of writing but I may be biased now I know who has written it.

Most of us have the fear of going up a size in clothing. We put all out efforts getting into jeans that are far too small for us, allowing the ever-unflattering "muffin top" to overflow from the waist band. We lay down on our back's just to pull the zip up on the jeans that once pulled us in and now we push them out. We spend far too long attempting to zip up our favourite dress before giving up for a stretchier one; even then we're unhappy as our curves don't sit in "the right" places.

This ongoing struggle occurs every day in the fight against the idea of the next size up. We're so focused by the numbers on our clothes that we forget that they're supposed to make us feel happy in our own skin. They're supposed to look good on us - and us look good in them.

The feeling of having to buy the next size up whether it be in jeans, tops, underwear - it can be one of the worst feelings. Finding we fit in a smaller size can be one of the happiest times and finding we need a larger size can be one of the worst. We throw such horrible words at ourselves - ruining our own self-esteem before the world even sees it. Even the most outwardly confident women in the world, reduced to mess because of the way they see themselves.

But what if you decided to go up that size?

The sizing is on the inside of the jeans, the label is your little secret. Only you need to know that number! it is not your number. It doesn't define you. YOU DEFINE YOU. Nobody and nothing should stop you from loving yourself. Be you. Wear something that makes you look in the mirror and think good things - regardless of the size.

That one size up can be the difference between an overflowing muffin top and the smooth curves you go on diets to achieve. Want to lose weight? Do it, but don't do it for anyone else, don't do it for the size of your clothes, do it for yourself.

Don't fear the next size up in clothing, it'll flatter your body better than stuffing yourself into the clothes you don't want to say goodbye to.

Be happy in your skin, in your clothes, in your life.

Don't let the size of your clothes reduce the size of your confidence.

Healthy Recipe choices

When looking for healthy recipes and good honest food to feed your family regardless of whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. I have found that there is one website that I continually revert back to and that is http://www.bbcgoodfood.com There are many sites out there that promote specific ways of cooking like, casserole recipes or juicing recipes (which I personally think is just wrong) but I tend to always go back to this site. They offer the basic to the more complicated but they always explain in simple terms how to make it.
This is the recipe that I am going to try next.

Giggle of the day

I was jumping all around yesterday on facebook and twitter and various other social media sites and I came across this photo. It had me in absolute stitches.
I mean where else could you look and find details of what people eat, drink and feel. There are so many posts about this if I was to read everything that my friends posted I would get nothing done.

Thoughts

I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and I came across a number of posts about weight loss and how much individuals were losing.
A relative of mine proudly put up that they had lost a whopping 9lbs in their first week of going back to their preferred diet regime. The comments that were attached were both congratulatory and questioning.
Now I am not opposed to anybody who decides on life changes, or am I opposed to them posting all over social media.
They unfortunately, have now put unrealistic values on to another person, who decides to follow the same diet regime.
I have heard on many occasions “How much can I lose in a week” and in reply, I always reply “it depends on you”
Every person is different, some will show complete commitment to the plan, others will be organized during the week but go off plan at weekends.
Every diet regardless of what it is will normally work. The reason I say this is because every plan has success stories, and data that shows proof.
So what you should be looking at is YOU
The Questions you should be asking are.

Will I be able to stick to this?
Will I get Hunger Pangs?
Will I crave foods I shouldn’t eat while on this plan?
Will I lose Muscle?
Will I need to exercise?
Is it something I can sustain?
Can I drink alcohol?
Will I be getting the nutrition I need?
Can I still eat out?
How will this affect me long term?

Now I cannot answer all of these questions for every diet that is out there. I only know through experience that you need to choose a diet that has nutrition at its core.
Before I chose the plan for me I tried a couple of others, well, to be honest, I dabbled in perhaps 5 or 6, I struggled on for anywhere between 3 days to 8 weeks long before each one was thrown out as a failure.
I either didn’t lose any weight or they were too restrictive for my lifestyle.
When I finally found my chosen plan, it was like a breath of fresh air.

I felt energized,
I was full,
I lost weight every week. (5oz – 2lbs)
I was able to still eat out occasionally but never made this a habit.
I was organized
My attitude changed around food, instead of do, I want it, it changed to, do I need it.
The plan I chose for myself was quick and easy to follow and in all fairness, I felt like I was always eating.

Herbalife

bright and shiny toy

Hi all. I can't say I have been very active on social media groups as of late, mostly because, as much as I love Herbalife and found it to be the best thing for me and mine, it is not for everyone and they will move onto the next bright and shiny toy that offers a quick fix. If you are interested in good healthy nutrition you can check out my site and learn more about the Herbalife products. I am a Herbalife Distributor and its all about building a relationship with your client to be able to help them. Herbalife Products A good tip is to advertise as much as you can in your first year when the excitement is at its highest. I am still passionate about Herbalife but I also advertise on a platform and get others to share my facebook, Twitter, links and website posts, which works better for me.

A Smile to light up my day

As the title suggests I have Four Children, but not only is that important I have four Daughters.
Whenever I tell people that I have four daughters they say "oh my god how do you cope? "

My answer is always "I was lucky they are brilliant kids" but it's like juggling china plates while riding a unicycle. You need balance and rules and plenty of them.

The one thing that changes with this saying is when you have kids. Because when a child smiles or giggles for the first time, or even every time, your whole world can light up.
